WildWood Drums are made slowly, purposefully, with cleansing herbs, ritual and ceremony.
We build drums because rhythm grounds us, sound carries intention, and natural materials deserve time and care. This is not about speed or scale — it’s about honouring the wood, listening to the hide, working with the seasons and lunar cycles, and allowing each drum to become what it wants to be.

• Ethically sourced wood, chosen for tone, strength, and character
• Shaped and assembled by hand, without production shortcuts
• Natural skins and oils, selected for resonance and longevity
• Finished slowly, allowing the materials to settle and respond
• No mass production — each drum is birthed one at a time, start to finish

Lesley teaches how to birth a drum by guiding you through the full process, from selecting the materials to creating a drum you will be proud to use. The focus is not speed or perfection, but learning to work with the materials, understanding tension, balance, and sound, and developing a respectful relationship with the drum as it takes form. Each student is supported to make their own drum by hand, at their own pace, with emphasis on presence, patience, and practical skill rather than rigid instruction.
